Just for me to remember, from my mommy&me class teacher at http://www.whatwomenwanttoknow.com/

"As the boys got older, we also developed a routine where everyone chooses a meal once a week, and sometimes helps to shop for and prepare the meals as well."

how nice.

I might stab my kids with a kitchen knife were they underfoot in the kitchen while making dinner, but we do like to get creative with snacks and such. Then we go out and get the supplies and make it together.

:p

Ah C, you are so made of win! Right now I have to stick Basil in front of Diego Animal Rescuer to make dinner, and if we all eat at the same time I get all pissy because my dinner gets cold while I chase small boys to eat theirs, so I actually eat before Bas comes home from school, so we are so far from this nice ideal it is laughable, but then that's why it is just an ideal :D

I was hoping I didn't offend you with my reaction. But I honestly am like, "Huh, I like that idea but it would never work in my reality."

I just posted these very suggestions for someone complaining their 3yo turned into a picky eater. Lumi helps me choose dinner a few times per week. And you know, a 3yo can be quite helpful with only a butter knife and some soft veggies. Lumi adores cutting zucchini and cucs. She thinks they taste better when she cuts them. ;)

But yes, Diego is also quite helpful too!
